The National Association of Realtors, sales for 2006 were down 8.4 percent, the biggest annual drop since the savings and loan crisis in 1989. And while the market is far from recovering, there are signs that it is starting to stabilize. The inventories of unsold homes were down 7.9 percent to 3.50 at the end of December and the median price of homes sold in December was up. While it's impossible to tell if the housing market has hit bottom yet, or when it will, I'm encouraged by the trends in December and the strong first month of 2007. | Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles Bronson has filed a law suit against a central Florida roofing company for violating Florida’s Do Not Call laws. The law suit alleges that the Orlando roofing company made at least 10 calls to Florida residents on the state’s Do Not Call list and that it also used a pre-recorded message in some of the calls which is a separate violation of Florida’s state law. The law suit seeks fines of up to $10,000 for each of the calls the roofing company made to prohibited numbers.
